Aug 23: What did I do this and last week?

What did I do the last two weeks?

Song of the week: nerdneko - sparkle
Emoji of the moment: 🌸

Cut down on caffeine

I did this last week, which is why I was too tired to write anything down and didn't make a post. I went from about four daily cups (as in like teacups, not big mugs...) of tea to one, so I've had The Lethargy, but now I seem to have gotten past that. Rooibos tea and flavored fizzy mineral water instead.

Finished season 2 of Sugar

I didn't much like it! Not enough happened. Very much felt like it was spinning its wheels. I would still recommend watching the first season if you want to see neo-noir private detective Colin Farrell.

Started reading The Murder at the Vicarage

Agatha Christie's first book featuring Miss Marple. I haven't read anything else by her, so I'm looking forward to finding out what all this is about. First chapter is funnier than I expected.

Started (re)playing Magic & Mayhem

A cool RTS/RPG game from my childhood, where you play a wizard who walks around isometric maps and summons creatures and casts other spells to fight other wizards and their creatures, as seen here. I haven't been able to get the game's FMVs or music to work, though, so I'm not sure if I want to continue playing or watch a longplay or wait and hope GOG picks it up at some point. I'd like to go through all of it, in whatever way, and take notes on how it all works and is designed, and then try to make my own game like it. Maybe set in the far future instead, on an old space habitat where people have made up new mythological creatures. I'll probably never even start the project, but it's fun to think about.

Thought about becoming more seasonal

Following from last week's thoughts, maybe I could do a whole spring-summer/autumn-winter thing, where I put cold weather clothes in a box from April to October or so and then switch them out with warm weather clothes, and have one lighting setup for half the year and another for the other half, and maybe some different foods for each half, and maybe play Warframe during one half and FF14 during the other... I think having things be mostly the same from day to day but different from longer period to longer period is something that suits me - and is what I end up doing anyway, just in a less structured and satisfying way - because I want routine but I also want change. I like the idea of having a checklist that I go through over the nearest weekend to October 1 to transform the details of my life. It's probably not something I'll start with this year, but maybe the next. It's an appealing thought to me, anyway.
